Alina Charaeva Ends Her Run at the WTA 250 Tournament in Hamburg

Armenian tennis player Alina Charaeva failed to reach the semifinals of the WTA 250 tournament in Hamburg.
Charaeva, ranked No. 117 in the world, lost to world No. 97 Anna Bondar of Hungary in straight sets in the quarterfinals. The match ended 6–1, 7–6 (7–3).
Had she won, Charaeva could have faced fellow Armenian representative Elina Avanesyan in the semifinals. Avanesyan will play Ukraine’s Oleksandra Oliynykova in her quarterfinal match.
Charaeva recorded two victories in Hamburg, defeating Austria’s Sinja Kraus and Spain’s Sara Sorribes Tormo.
