The 19-year-old weightlifter from Armenia, Alexandra Grigoryan, has been nominated for the first-ever EWF – AIPS Europe RISING STAR of 2024 Award. This award, established by the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) in collaboration with AIPS Europe, aims to recognize young athletes who demonstrate outstanding results and have the potential for future victories.
Alexandra Grigoryan has already made a name for herself on the international stage. In 2024, she became the European senior champion, won a bronze medal at the World Championships, and claimed victory at the European Youth Championships. These achievements have made her one of the most promising weightlifters on the continent.
The award ceremony will take place on April 13, 2025, in Chișinău, Moldova, as part of the opening of the European Weightlifting Championships. In addition to Alexandra Grigoryan, the list of nominees includes representatives from nine countries, including Moldova, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, Georgia, Finland, Turkey, Malta, and Poland.
