Alexander Kovalenko joins Lokomotiv Moscow on loan from Sochi

Midfielder Alexander Kovalenko will continue his career at Lokomotiv Moscow. The 22-year-old footballer has joined the club from Sochi on loan.
The agreement runs until June 2027. After the loan spell ends, Lokomotiv will have an option to buy the player.
Kovalenko spent last season with Sochi. In total, the midfielder made 28 appearances for the club in all competitions: 24 matches in the Russian Premier League and 4 games in the Russian Cup.
Earlier in his career, Kovalenko also played for Chertanovo, Krylia Sovetov, Zenit and Orenburg. With the St. Petersburg club, he became a Russian champion and also won the Russian Cup and Super Cup.
The move is also of interest to Armenian fans, as Kovalenko remains a candidate for the Armenia national team. It was previously reported that the footballer could change his sporting citizenship and represent Armenia at international level.
