Agent: “Southampton” ready to make Spertsyan key figure of project

The agent of Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan, Vadim Ohanyan, has confirmed that Southampton’s interest in the player is serious. According to him, the English club will soon send an official offer to Krasnodar.

— We have already had contact with Southampton’s representatives, — Ohanyan said. — The club presented its project, the vision of the head coach and sporting director, as well as the role they see for Eduard. They view him as a core player around whom the team will be built. Such a level of interest is very rare.

The agent also emphasized that Southampton has a rich history and reputation: over its 139-year existence, the club has developed and revealed many stars of world football, including Sadio Mané, Virgil van Dijk, and Luke Shaw.

— I am confident that in the new season the team will return to the Premier League with a big lead. In the Championship, they stand out both in squad quality and in finances, — Ohanyan noted. — Eduard has long said that he wants to test himself in Europe, and after a season in which he helped Krasnodar win the league title, he has earned that right. I don’t think the club will block his move.

Reports about a possible transfer of Spertsyan to Southampton emerged in July, and now the negotiations are entering an official stage.
