Lokomotiv’s Young Joker: Armen Yeranosyan Saves Matches and Makes a Name for Himself
Seventeen-year-old Armen Yeranosyan has unexpectedly become one of the standout discoveries of the current Youth Football League season. Initially, the player was supposed to represent the U17 team, but due to squad shortages and injuries, he was moved up to an older age category — Lokomotiv U19.
Despite his young age, Yeranosyan has already started to make a real impact on the team. In the Youth Football League’s Matchday 5 clash against CSKA, he came on as a substitute in the 85th minute and equalized just five minutes later to make it 4–4. Moreover, in stoppage time, Armen nearly snatched the win for Lokomotiv, but his shot in the 90+3rd minute struck the post.
Notably, this season the midfielder has been consistently appearing in the closing stages of matches — he has come off the bench in all five rounds and has already scored two goals.
Special attention is gradually building around the young player. Fans and bloggers following Lokomotiv particularly highlight his powerful left foot. Back in 2025, at the U17 level, Yeranosyan regularly scored spectacular goals with precise strikes into the top corner, demonstrating a high level of technique and composure.
