Yerevan to Host a Large-Scale Sports Festival for International Day

On April 6, Yerevan will host a large-scale sports festival dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, established by a United Nations resolution. This day has been celebrated annually since 2013 in countries around the world.
For one day, the capital of Armenia will turn into a real open-air “stadium.” As part of the program, organized with the participation of профиль ministries and the city municipality, open training sessions, sports competitions, and demonstration performances are planned.
From 3:00 PM, demonstration competitions in mini-football, basketball, motorsport, and skateboarding will take place at Republic Square.
Earlier, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Northern Avenue will host presentations of various sports, including weightlifting, fencing, volleyball, boxing, sambo, badminton, karate, taekwondo, and gymnastics. Demonstration performances will be conducted by students of sports schools operating under the relevant ведомство.
Guests and participants will not only be able to watch the competitions but also take part in interactive activities, immersing themselves in the atmosphere of a sports celebration.
Additional events are planned at Freedom Square and in the courtyard of the “Aygi” business center. Throughout the day, sports events will also take place in the regions of the country, where competitions and demonstration performances will be held.
