Suren Aghajanyan Reaches Final of the U23 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship

Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Suren Aghajanyan (60 kg) has reached the final of the 2026 U23 European Wrestling Championship taking place in Zrenjanin, Serbia. In the semifinal bout, the Armenian representative confidently defeated Danish athlete Brian Santiago with a score of 9:1.
On his way to the decisive match, Agadzhanyan delivered several impressive performances. In his opening bout, he defeated French wrestler Ilian Auynau ahead of time with a score of 9:0. In the next round, he overcame Poland’s Olivier Skripczak 10:8, finishing the match with a fall.
In the final of the tournament, the Armenian wrestler will face Georgia’s Giorgi Kochalidze.
It should be noted that among the Armenian wrestlers competing today at the U23 European Championship, Suren Agadzhanyan became the only finalist among those who started their bouts today. Two more representatives of the Armenian national team will also compete in the finals today — Samvel Terteryan (77 kg) and Aramais Harutyunyan (130 kg), who began their competition yesterday.
