On the final day of the U23 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championships, the Armenian national team retained a chance to claim a second medal at the tournament.
Armenian wrestler Suren Agadzhanyan (60 kg category) lost yesterday to Japan’s Koto Gomi, who later advanced to the final. As a result, Agadzhanyan got the opportunity to continue competing in the repechage round.
Today, he confidently defeated Israel’s Melkamu Fetene with a score of 10:0, securing his place in the bronze medal match. His opponent will be Maxwell Hopper Black of the USA.
It should be noted that earlier in the tournament, Razmik Kurdyan (130 kg) won a silver medal, becoming Armenia’s first medalist at this year’s championship.
