Spartak Mikayelyan Named Best Amateur MMA Fighter of 2025

Armenian fighter Spartak Mikayelyan has received the prestigious IMMAF award, being named the Best Amateur MMA Fighter of 2025. In the voting, the 21-year-old athlete finished ahead of competitors such as Gadzhi Gadzhiev (Bahrain), Vincent Verly (Switzerland), and Gimbat Magomedov (Bahrain).
The past year was truly historic for Mikayelyan. He won the gold medal at the 2025 IMMAF World MMA Championship, securing Armenia’s first-ever victory at the senior amateur world level. This achievement became a logical continuation of his rapid progress on the international stage.
Previously, Spartak Mikayelyan had also claimed the title of Youth World Champion, further confirming his status as one of the most promising representatives of the new generation of Armenian MMA fighters.
It is worth noting that in an exclusive interview with Sportaran, the athlete stated that he plans to begin his professional MMA career in 2026, opening a new chapter in his sporting journey.
