Europa League Round of 16 draw held: playoff bracket determined

On February 27, the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland. As a result, the playoff pairings and the potential path to the tournament final were determined.

Each team had two possible opponents based on their position in the league phase. Clubs that advanced through the knockout play-off round were drawn against teams that qualified directly for the Round of 16 by finishing in the top eight of the league phase.

The following Round of 16 pairings were formed:

Ferencváros — Braga

Genk — Freiburg

Stuttgart — Porto

Bologna — Roma

Panathinaikos — Real Betis

Celta — Lyon

Nottingham Forest — Midtjylland

Lille — Aston Villa

The first legs of the Round of 16 will be played on March 12, with the return legs scheduled for March 19.

During the ceremony, the further tournament bracket was also determined, including potential quarter-final and semi-final matchups. Clubs now know their possible opponents in the next stages should they advance.

The 2025/26 Europa League final will take place on May 20 in Istanbul.
