The Armenian national team will compete in the World Rapid and Blitz Championship with an expanded lineup

At the end of December, the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship will begin in Doha, Qatar, where Armenia will be represented by 12 participants. The national team includes both experienced grandmasters and young, promising players.

The men’s team will feature Mamikon Gharibyan, Shant Sargsyan, Hayk Martirosyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Aram Hakobyan, Arthur Davtyan, Emin Ohanyan, and Robert Filipporsyan. The women’s team will be represented by Lilit Mkrtchian, Elina Danielian, Mariam Mkrtchian, and Susanna Gaboyan.

The World Rapid and Blitz Championship will take place from December 25 to 30 and will traditionally gather the strongest players on the planet. The Armenian athletes hope to fight for top positions and strengthen the country’s presence on the international chess stage.
