On October 3, the international freestyle wrestling tournament in memory of the first President of the Chechen Republic, Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, concluded in Grozny. The memorial traditionally brought together the best wrestlers from Russia and abroad, remaining one of the most prestigious autumn competitions.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili, First Vice President of FSBR and two-time Olympic champion Arsen Fadzaev, Olympic champions Taha Akgül (Turkey) and Abdulrashid Sadulaev, as well as representatives of sports federations from various countries.

Over two days of competition — October 2 and 3 — wrestlers from Russia, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, France, Armenia, Bulgaria, Belarus, and other countries competed for victory in ten weight categories.

Armenian wrestlers also took part, but this time they did not reach the podium:

57 kg — Arman Harutyunyan
61 kg — Sarkis Begoyan
65 kg — Ayko Gasparyan

Up to 79 kg:

  1. Malamagomed Gamzatov (Dagestan)

  3. Kasum Kasumov and Said Saidulov (both Dagestan)

Up to 86 kg:

  1. Amanulla Rasulov (Dagestan)

  2. Ramzan Bulatov (Chechen Republic)

Up to 92 kg:

Up to 97 kg:
