First UEFA Champions League Quarterfinalists Confirmed

On March 17, the second-leg matches of four Round of 16 ties in the UEFA Champions League took place, determining the first quarterfinalists of the tournament. Sporting CP, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal FC advanced to the next round.
Comeback of the Day — Lisbon
The biggest sensation happened in Lisbon. Sporting, who lost the first match 0–3, pulled off an incredible comeback. In the return leg, the Portuguese side crushed their opponent 5–0 to reach the quarterfinals.
They erased the deficit in regular time and sealed the rout in extra time thanks to goals from Maximiliano Araújo and Rafael Nel. Francisco Trincão was named Man of the Match with two assists.
Sporting will face Arsenal in the quarterfinals.
Arsenal confidently passed Bayer
Arsenal defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2–0 and won 3–1 on aggregate. The London side controlled the tie and stepped up when needed.
Declan Rice was named Man of the Match, contributing solid defense and scoring the decisive second goal.
PSG crushed Chelsea
Paris Saint-Germain comfortably beat Chelsea FC 3–0 in the second leg and 8–2 on aggregate. The team showed top quality, deciding the outcome early and controlling possession throughout.
The best player of the match was Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
PSG will face the winner of Liverpool FC vs Galatasaray SK (first leg 0–1).
Real Madrid stronger than Manchester City again
Real Madrid confirmed their favorite status by beating Manchester City FC 2–1 and winning 5–1 on aggregate.
The hero was Vinícius Júnior, who scored a brace, including a late goal. Real confidently handled pressure and continued their pursuit of the trophy.
In the quarterfinals, they will face the winner of FC Bayern Munich vs Atalanta BC (first leg 6–1).
