Europa League 2025/26: Panathinaikos thrashed Young Boys, Lille and Stuttgart started with wins

On Thursday, September 25, the first round of the Europa League main stage was completed. Nine matches took place the day before, while the remaining fixtures were played today.
The biggest surprise came from Switzerland, where Young Boys suffered a heavy home defeat to Panathinaikos (1–4). The Greek club immediately climbed to the top of the table. Moroccan forward Anass Zaroury scored a hat-trick, becoming the hero of the round. Successful starts were also recorded by Porto, Lyon, FCSB (formerly Steaua), and Aston Villa, who all secured narrow victories.
Europa League debutants Go Ahead Eagles began their campaign with a home defeat to Romanian side FCSB.
