From March 31 to April 6, 2025, the World Boxing Cup was held in the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu, organized by the international federation World Boxing. This tournament was the first event on the federation’s 2025 calendar and brought together participants from 19 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chinese Taipei, France, England, Germany, Guatemala, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Norway, Panama, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, the USA, Uzbekistan, and Wales.
The competition took place at the Rafain Palace Hotel and Convention arena, with the final day serving as the tournament’s climax, where 18 champions were crowned. Athletes from Uzbekistan stood out, winning five gold medals in the men's division. Poland also shone, becoming the only country to win two golds in the women’s finals.
In the men’s medal tally, Uzbekistan led with 7 medals, followed by India with 6 and Brazil with 5. In the women’s ranking, Poland took first place with 7 medals, followed by Italy (5), and Brazil and England tied for third (4 each).
The next stage of the World Cup will be held in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, from June 30 to July 7.
