Katya Galstyan Concludes Her 10 km Freestyle Race

Armenian cross-country skier Katya Galstyan finished 82nd in the women’s 10 km freestyle event at the Milano–Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
Among 111 competitors, the Armenian athlete posted a time of 28:33.7.
As expected, Galstyan managed to outperform skiers from equatorial countries, a Turkish athlete, both Greek representatives, Argentinians, a Serbian, a Moldovan and Latvian athletes. Overall, Katya delivered a solid performance, confirming her level at the main event of the four-year Olympic cycle.

- Frida Karlsson (Sweden) — 22:49.2
- Ebba Andersson (Sweden) — 23:35.8
- Jessie Diggins (USA) — 23:38.9
Sweden’s Frida Karlsson confirmed her status as the tournament’s main star in Tesero, winning the race convincingly with a time of 22:49.2 and claiming her second Olympic gold medal. Her compatriot Ebba Andersson recorded the second-best time, while American Jessie Diggins bounced back after a fall in the skiathlon to complete the podium.
For Armenian sport, participation and competitive racing at the Olympic distance remain an important step forward, and Katya Galstyan’s performance can be assessed positively given the overall level of world cross-country skiing.
Earlier in the skiathlon, Frida Karlsson also won, while Emma Andersson finished second.
