Gaspar Terteryan Reaches the U23 World Championship Semifinal

On October 21, during the second day of the 2025 U23 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, four Armenian wrestlers took to the mat. One of them — U20 World Champion Gaspar Terteryan (72 kg) — successfully advanced to the semifinals and continues his quest for a second world gold medal this year.
On his way to the semifinals, Terteryan claimed three confident victories, defeating Sweden’s Simon Borkenhagen (2:0), India’s Anil Anil (6:1), and Kyrgyzstan’s Yryskeldi Khamzaev (5:3). In the semifinal, Gaspar will face Iman Mohammadi of Iran.
Two other Armenian wrestlers — Ruben Miranyan (67 kg) and Arshak Geghamyan (97 kg) — lost their bouts but still have a chance to fight for bronze if their opponents reach the final. Araik Topalyan (55 kg) has finished his run in the tournament.

The semifinals will begin at 18:00 Moscow time, and the finals will start at 19:00.
It should be noted that another Armenian wrestler, Razmik Kurdyan (130 kg), will also compete in the finals.
