18-year-old Sunderland forward Finn Geragusian has attracted interest from Championship side Wrexham, according to Sunderland Echo.
The Welsh club, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is planning to strengthen its academy with two Sunderland players — Geragusian and Jenson Jones. At the same time, Wrexham are pushing for promotion to the Premier League this season.
Geragousian is currently on a scholarship deal with Sunderland, which expires this summer. If the sides fail to agree on a professional contract, the player could leave for a compensation fee of around €200,000.
According to British journalist Craig Hope, Nottingham Forest, Rangers, and several other European clubs are also interested in the Armenian forward, primarily for academy options.
Meanwhile, Sunderland are keen to keep the player and are already in talks over a professional contract, potentially followed by a loan move.
This season, the 194 cm striker has recorded 13 goals and 3 assists for Sunderland’s U18 and U21 teams.
Geragousian has also received his first call-up to the Armenia national team and could make his debut in a friendly against Belarus on March 29.
