18-year-old Armenian striker Finn Geragusian has been included in the Sunderland first-team squad for the first time. The forward is part of the squad for the FA Cup Round of 16 match against Port Vale.
This is the first time the young footballer has been named in the matchday squad of the English club’s senior team. At the same time, the past week has been very successful for Geragusian.
Just two days ago, he scored a goal for Sunderland U21 in the youth cup, and shortly afterwards he received his first call-up to the Armenia national team for the March matches against the UAE (March 26) and Belarus (March 29).
Now the 18-year-old striker has a chance to make his senior club debut even before a possible debut for the national team.
Sunderland’s opponent will be Port Vale, a club representing the third tier of English football. The match will start at 17:30 Yerevan time (16:30 Moscow time).
If Geragusian appears on the pitch, it will be his first match for Sunderland’s senior team and an important moment for Armenian football.
