Emotional Farewell: Final Fight Set for November
After his win at PetrosyanMania, Giorgio addressed fans on social media, thanking his team and revealing his future plans.
Petrosyan emphasized that he fought through injuries and challenges, staying loyal to the sport for 23 years.
“On Saturday night, I defended my WAKO Pro world title in front of all my fans in Milan at PetrosyanMania, organized, as always flawlessly, by my brother Armen Petrosyan!
Those who know me well know I wasn’t satisfied with my form, but fights don’t always go as planned — otherwise it would all be too easy. I want to thank my entire team and everyone who stood by me during preparation. I’m lucky to have true professionals around me. I could list hundreds of names, but I’m afraid to forget someone — and since everyone is important to me, I don’t want to make that mistake.
I’ve been fighting since I was 16 and didn’t think this moment would come so soon. I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing, but I must tell you: this fight was the penultimate one of my career.
I’ve always stepped into the ring without complaints — despite injuries all over my body, despite the many challenges that accompanied me over these 23 years.
Time passes for me too: I’ll turn 40 in December. That’s why I’ve decided to fight one last time on November 22, again at PetrosyanMania, at the Allianz Cloud in Milan!
Thanks to this sport, I’ve traveled the world, fought on the most prestigious stages, won title bouts, collected every possible belt, and faced the strongest fighters on the planet without ever backing down.
All this — not for Instagram champions or fake holders of cardboard belts.
Now I need a little rest... See you soon.”
Giorgio Petrosyan retires at the top — with a win, a belt, and an unshakable reputation as one of the greatest fighters on the planet. His journey is more than a list of titles — it’s a story of resilience, skill, and devotion to the sport.
The Italian public is already preparing to bid farewell to "The Doctor" with honor — this November, at the same tournament that became the symbol of his legacy.
