Bodø/Glimt ends Champions League journey after Sporting’s sensational comeback

Lisbon’s Sporting delivered an incredible comeback in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, thrashing Norwegian Bodø/Glimt 5-0. After a 0-3 away defeat, the “Lions” advanced to the quarter-finals.
The first leg in Norway ended with a 3-0 win for Bodø/Glimt. In the return match in Lisbon, the hosts equalized during regular time:

The match then went into extra time, where Maximiliano Araújo and Rafael Nel scored, cementing the 5-0 victory.
Francesco Trincão was named the best player, providing two key assists and becoming the central figure in the historic comeback.
In the quarter-finals, Sporting will face the winner of the Arsenal–Bayer tie.
This victory matched Sporting’s best European result in the European Cup during the 1982/83 season.
