Artak Adamyan, the head coach of the Armenia women’s national football team, has decided to step down from his position. The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) officially announced the news.

The federation thanked the specialist for his work and his contribution to the development of women’s football in the country. FFA President Armen Melikbekyan noted that under Adamyan’s leadership the national team made noticeable progress and achieved a historic result.

According to him, it was during Adamyan’s tenure that the team secured its first victory in official matches, demonstrating the potential and future prospects of women’s football in Armenia.

“Thanks to focused and consistent work, a team was formed and a solid foundation for future success was laid. I am confident that this foundation will help the national team achieve new results,” Melikbekyan emphasized.

Adamyan also addressed the team and the fans with a farewell message. He noted that the time spent with the national team was filled with challenges, victories, and valuable experience, and that the decision to leave the position was not easy.

“I am grateful to our players for their willpower, perseverance, and energy. You have proven that women’s football in Armenia has enormous potential. I would also like to thank the coaching staff and employees for their dedication, and the fans for their support in moments of both victory and defeat,” the specialist said.

Adamyan also expressed special gratitude to the Football Federation of Armenia for the trust and support shown to him.

One of the team’s key achievements under his leadership was the first official victory in the history of the national team. On April 9, 2024, in the qualification for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, Armenia defeated Bulgaria 3–2.

Currently, the Armenia women’s national team is competing in Group C of League C in the qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. In the first match of the qualifiers, the team lost 0–3 to Kazakhstan.

The Armenian team will play its next match on April 14, when it hosts Belarus.
