Arsenal injuries: White and Calafiori ruled out ahead of key Premier League matches

Arsenal injuries: White and Calafiori ruled out ahead of key Premier League matches

London’s Arsenal have encountered new squad problems during the most intense stretch of the season. A 4–0 victory over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup Round of 32 did not eliminate concerns — instead, it added to them. The team lost two defenders in one match and continues to struggle with squad depth. If you place bets on the Premier League and other tournaments, it is always wise to keep a working Mostbet mirror at hand to avoid losing access to the platform.

The main blow hit the defensive line. Riccardo Calafiori picked up an injury during the pre-match warm-up and was unable to take the field. Ben White started the game but was forced off in the second half. Considering that White has already dealt with injuries earlier this season, his latest setback is particularly worrying for Mikel Arteta’s staff.

The problems do not end there. Team captain Martin Ødegaard missed the match after sustaining an injury against Brentford. Kai Havertz, according to preliminary reports, is sidelined at least until the end of the month, while Mikel Merino could miss the remainder of the season following foot surgery. As a result, the Gunners are losing several key players across different areas of the pitch.

After the win over Wigan, Arteta noted that the team has repeatedly had to adapt to absences this season — first the attack was affected, then the defense, and now midfield issues have emerged. According to the Spanish coach, the squad is coping with the situation, but he emphasized that consistent results require players to be in optimal condition and greater rotation options depending on the opponent. He also praised the team’s intensity and chemistry in the Wigan match, adding that Arsenal will continue experimenting with tactical combinations until the end of the campaign.

In the Premier League, Arsenal remain in the title race. After 26 rounds, the London side sit first with 57 points, holding a four-point advantage over Manchester City. A challenging period lies ahead: Wolves are next, followed by London derbies against Tottenham and Chelsea. Wolves may struggle to mount a serious challenge, but the upcoming fixtures in London will certainly not be easy outings.

The Gunners’ absences could significantly impact the title race — especially given that the team has managed just two wins in their last five league matches.
