In the coming days, Yerevan will host another stage of the Sambo World Cup — one of the largest international tournaments in this sport. The competitions will take place on April 11–12 and will once again bring together the strongest athletes from around the world.
According to the organizers, this year representatives from 22 countries will participate in the tournament, with a total of around 570 athletes. Thus, the event promises to be one of the largest in recent years.
Armenia has been hosting this tournament for the third consecutive year, strengthening its reputation as one of the key centers for the development of sambo. Representatives of the national federation note that the country's teams are fully prepared and expect strong performances.
The head coach of the national team emphasized that the team will compete with a full lineup in both combat sambo and women's competitions. At the same time, he noted that the final results will depend solely on performances on the mat.
The current World Cup holder expressed confidence in his abilities and stated that he is in good form. According to him, he intends to compete for first place again and retain his champion title.
It is worth noting that Yerevan has already hosted Sambo World Cup stages in 2024 and 2025. Hosting the tournament for the third consecutive time confirms the high level of organization and the growing interest in sambo in the region.
