32-year-old defender Arman Hovhannisyan has announced his retirement from professional football following the 2025/26 Fastex Premier League opening match between Ararat and Gandzasar. According to insider Suren Meliksetyan, this game was the last of his career.

A product of Yerevan’s Pyunik academy, Hovhannisyan played over 200 matches in the Armenian Premier League, representing some of the country’s top clubs. He also gained valuable international experience playing in the Ukrainian and Kazakh leagues.

Hovhannisyan earned 12 caps for the Armenian national team.

In the summer of 2025, Arman moved from Pyunik to Ararat but played only one match before announcing his retirement.
