Anush Grigoryan Wins Bronze at the Strandja Cup – Armenia’s Only Medal

Armenian boxer Anush Grigoryan (51 kg weight category) won a bronze medal at the 2026 Strandja Cup held in Sofia. In the semifinals, Grigoryan lost to Bulgaria’s Zlatislava Chukanova with a score of 2:3.

On her way to the podium, Anush secured two confident victories, defeating opponents from Italy and Serbia. Thus, she guaranteed herself a place among the medalists and became the only representative of the Armenian national team to win an award at this prestigious international tournament.

In total, Armenia competed in Sofia with a squad of 10 boxers — 2 women and 8 men. However, it was only Grigoryan who contributed a medal to the team’s tally.
