On March 7, the ice dance competition at the 2026 World Junior Figure Skating Championships concluded in Tallinn. The gold medals were won by the American pair Hana Maria Aboian / Daniil Veselukhin, who delivered confident performances in both programs.
The skaters placed first in the rhythm dance and then confirmed their lead in the free dance, scoring a total of 166.71 points to become the Junior World Champions.
The silver medals went to the French duo Perrier Gianesini / Blanc Klaperman, who scored 164.88 points. Third place was taken by Ukraine’s Pidgaina / Koval with 164.32 points.
For 15-year-old Hana Maria Aboian , who has Armenian roots, this victory became the first world championship title of her career. The skater was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire (USA). Interestingly, she started figure skating by chance: as a child, Hana Maria watched the animated film “Frozen”, where she was especially impressed by the ice-skating scene. Later she saw an advertising brochure for a skating school and convinced her parents to enroll her in classes.
Her partner Daniil Veselukhin is originally from Kirov. He trained and competed in Russia for many years before continuing his career in the United States.
It is also worth noting that representatives of Armenia competed at the Junior World Championships in Tallinn. In the men’s singles event, Mikael Salazaryan finished 32nd, while in the women’s competition Isabella Yesayan placed 43rd.
